Project: Gender Working Group (2010 to 2012)
Form and lead a new working group within SEEP to focus on gender issues within the industry. Working Group addresses gender issues at both the client and the institutional level.
Responsibilities:
- P Convene and facilitate organizational meeting at SEEP 2010 conference to gauge member interest in a possible gender working group.
- P Based on enthusiastic response, prepare and pitch concept note to SEEP leadership.
- P Identify and work with regional facilitators (Latin America, Eastern Europe, Middle East).
- P Collaborate closely with SEEP in-house staff to develop Gender Working Group website, including on-line, keyword-searchable library of documents and practitioner tools.
- P Support Latin America roll-out of institutional survey regarding gender practices in the workplace, and oversee production of final report.
- P Present Working Group concept and plans to audience at Sanabel, the annual conference of microfinance institutions in the Arab region.
- P Preside over quarterly telephonic meetings and twice-annual in-person meetings of Working Group.
- P Prepare concept note for second-year renewal.
